A family business since 1999

Green Outdoors started as Tinker Lawn and Landscape, with two brothers mowing neighborhood yards in 1999. Once they could drive, the business grew into other neighborhoods, and cousins and brothers joined the crew.

Luke Young joined in 2003 and kept working through Kansas State University, where he earned a degree in Turf and Landscape Management. In 2015 he bought the business, renamed it Green Outdoors, and kept the family tradition going. His brother Bobby, who studied Landscape Design and Management at K-State, joined that May.

Bobby looks after the landscape side and Luke the turf. The goal is the same as it has always been: a better outdoor space, and a good relationship with the people who own it.

  1. Two brothers start mowing neighborhood yards as Tinker Lawn and Landscape.
  2. The crew grows. Luke Young, a cousin, comes on board.
  3. The family business is officially established.
  4. Luke buys the business and it becomes Green Outdoors, Inc. Bobby Young joins after graduating from K-State.
